Pops of Color

Sometimes having a pastel color scheme doesn't mean you should shy away from bright colors. Here are two weddings that had somewhat subdued color schemes with pops of color.





The bride's bouquet had peach and white accents to her bright pink peonies. Her bridesmaids' bouquets stayed very subdued in just whites and blush pinks.

The centerpieces at the Piper Palm House carried through the pastel peaches and pinks with the pops of pink peonies.

Another bride we had that same weekend also used a pastel color scheme and added in pops of orange. Her bridal bouquet was a very sweet mix of ivories and blush pinks with bright orange ranunculus to accent.

Her bridesmaids carried a slightly brighter version, but still with the ivories and pinks.

The centerpieces at Eden Seminary also had pops of orange mixed in with gardeny whites and blush pinks.

Bright colors can mix well with pastels and add an extra "pop" to your event.

Very Cool Flower Lamps!

Just as promised......pictures of the centerpieces from Emily and Mike's reception (you saw their ceremony in a previous blog). Emily wanted this lamp look for her reception at Neo. We incorporated her hot pink color with gladiolas that were contained within a large cylinder vase.




We then added the lampshade on top (with LED lights inside) and an LED disc at the base. The whole arrangement was lit up like an actual lamp. It was very cool and contemporary and went well with the space at Neo.

The opposite tables had three vases of hot pink flowers-one with hydrangea, one with peonies and one with carnations.

The long head table was decorated with the bouquets from the ceremony. The whole event had a very sleek look with the bride's pops of pink!

Dunk Mug - Genius!

This has got to be one of the most creative and functional designs I have seen in a while! Several people I know would LOVE to have one of these! No more juggling a mug and a plate :) This would make a great gift item.

Pistachio Press

Check out these beautiful letterpress invitations by {Pistachio Press}. Pistachio Press was officially launched during the summer of 2007, and informally since 2003 when Rachel Hetzel, a native of upstate New York, drove to Ohio to buy her first letterpress. Since then, she has accumulated several hundreds pounds of type and three more presses. It is her printmaking background that has helped drive her passion for paper and ink. She now prints fine stationary, social invitations, and limited edition prints. Pistachio Press is an environmentally conscious studio, using rubber-based inks and biodegradable citrus-based solvents for cleaning. She prints on 100% tree-free cotton papers or recycled papers that are 30% post-consumer waste.

~ Heavy Metal Letterpress ~

Last month, {Miguel Castro's} beautiful letterpress baby shower invitation design made it on {Oh So Beautiful Paper}, one of my favorite blogs! I am so proud of all the amazing work he has been producing and even more proud to see him published there! I love the added touch of stitching the two pages together at the top. While looking around on {Oh So Beautiful Paper}, I came across this wonderful {letterpress book} that I have ordered and can't wait to look through it!

Bright and Fresh

This wedding had such a refreshing seasonal feel for early summer. Crisp whites, yellows and greens were the main colors.




These bouquets, in the window at the church, were what the bridesmaids carried. The bridal bouquet- held below by a bridesmaid- had the same flowers but with added green cymbidium orchids.

We think all of our brides are gorgeous!

The guys' bouts. were a mix of green hypericum berries and yellow solidago.

The centerpieces at the City Museum were a mix of high and low arrangements. The tall vases included hanging votives that added an extra ambiance once the lights were dimmed.

Sisters Flowers has a new location!

We are growing and moving up! Sisters Flowers has recently moved into their bigger and better location on East Clinton in Kirkwood. Pictures of the new design studio will be on the blog and Facebook soon!! We are so excited to showcase our talents at a larger facility that will contain all of our consultation, design and productions needs.
