Beautiful Bridal Bouquet

This bouquet was a shop favorite here at Sisters. It was for a wedding the first weekend in April and the pinks really got us in the mood for spring. Take a look!

This bouquet included pink hydrangea, white freesia, pink roses and spray roses, ivory roses, and pearled stephanotis.

Vertical Gardens and Bardessono Hotel & Spa!

These are so cool - what an awesome idea to grow a garden vertically on the wall as a work of art in a frame! {Flora Grubb Gardens}, a San Francisco based business, is responsible for these beautiful gardens. They have a wide variety of great, climate appropriate plants, a great selection of outdoor furniture, and other home design items, as well.

They also created the wall garden for the {Bardessono} hotel, restaurant, and spa in Napa Valley. This 62-room hotel was one of the most anticipated openings for years in Napa Valley. With its incredible modern elegant design, along with advanced environmental technologies and materials, Bardessono is said to be one of the greenest luxury hotels in America. I love, love, love everything about this place! From the interior design to the architecture and exterior design, the beautiful lighting fixtures, the gorgeous stone work both outside with the slate tiles and pillars, as well as the large marble dining tables. How about those luxury bathrooms - ah! Take me there now please.

Noriko Ambe - Paper Sculptures

I am totally blown away and speechless after seeing the work of artist {Noriko Ambe} and I think you probably feel the same after seeing these. In her artist's statement, she explains that she has been mapping the mysterious land between physical and emotional geography in an attempt to attain something sublime. She focuses on extreme detail - detail being the key point of nature, and we are part of nature. She tries to avoid drawing or cutting mechanical/perfect lines in her work, believing that the subtle natural distortions convey the nuances of human emotions, habits, or biorhythm. It is because of all this that Ambe creates all of her work by hand. My favorite part of her statement was how she explained the importance of the process:

"Using the five senses, perceiving the natural qualities of the materials, I found that I am concerned less about the end, and more about "doing". The process of creating is equally as important as the finished work." - Ambe
