Autumn Wedding, Gardens at Malmaisson-- Part 1

Sisters Flowers helped out with the very beautiful wedding of Melissa and Kevin earlier this month. Take a look at our snapshots of the ceremony and reception decor.



The outdoor ceremony was such a pretty preview of the coming autumn colors. We decorated the aisle and the arch in the fall wedding colors.

We added hanging votives to the back of the archway for a little added romantic touch.

Inside the tented reception, we made tall and short centerpieces in bright fall colors that popped right off of the dark blue linens.

Even the gates at the entrance were decorated to give the guests a little peek of autumn delight!!

Inspiration Picture

We recently did an event at Missouri Baptist. The person coordinating the event contacted us to make the centerpieces and to pull from a design she liked in an magazine. Here is the inspiration picture.



The colors and textures were most important to the look of the event. Birds were also being incorporated for the event, so Sisters combined the look from the picture, the birds and the budget and came up with these.......

Our version of the arrangement had the same colors and interesting textures as the inspiration without breaking the budget. The birds were added as a subtle touch.

We work with lots of inspiration pictures at Sisters. After talking to our clients, we pick the important qualities of the picture and make the design fit the needs of the event. Bring your inspiration photos with you when you meet with us!

Lush Fall Colors

Angela and Derek are a cute couple that we helped out last fall. Here are some pictures of their vibrant and lush fall flowers. Such bright flowers for a bright bride and groom!




The bridal bouquet was a glorious fall mix of reds, yellows, and oranges using gerbers, berries, tulips, roses, and mini callas.

The bridesmaids carried all the colors in gerber daisies.

This small clutch bouquet is the what the moms carried for their flowers.

Angela looks radiant and ready for her big entrance. We LOVED this bouquet for their sunny, autumn wedding day!

Derek wore this flame mini calla bout. with red berry accent to match Angela's flowers.

The other guys wore these cute fall mum bouts.

The ceremony was held at First Congregational Church in Webster Groves. Fall mums lined the aisle and bright fall flowers framed the altar in tall vases.

Wildflower Loft was the reception venue for this happy couple. Short cube arrangements in the wedding colors decorated the room.

Colorful croton leaves were wrapped around the inside of the cube vase for added interest and color.

The wedding of Lori and Michael was last November. They chose bright colors to add interest to their fun day! Take a look!

Lori's bouquet was a very vintage-inspired bouquet. It included all whites and ivories with a touch of greens. The highlight of the whole design is the feathery Queen Anne's lace.

The intimate reception was held at Luciano's. All the tables were decorated with vibrant color.

Short, round arrangements of hydrangea, stock, dahlias, and roses really brightened up the guest tables.

This tall piece decorated the buffet table. It had all the wedding colors and flowers and also included tall curly willow branches.

Fruit and Flowers

Sisters designed these lush, fall arrangements for a rehearsal dinner last October. Our clients wanted to incorporate lots of texture and interest for the season. Fall roses, hydrangea, daises, berries and curly willow worked well together in the arrangements. We used red apples inside the cylinder vases to continue the fall color low on the table.

Texture with dahlias and hydrangea

This September wedding of Kelley and Justin took place at St. Agatha's in Soulard and Lemp Mansion. These flowers are great examples of how texture can really bring added interest to bouquets. Notice how the different shapes and sizes of flowers really bring your eye in to see everything in the bouquets. Thanks to Lace for these beautifully detailed photos.

The bridal and bridesmaids' bouquets incorporated dark purples, blues, red, and greens for a very rich color palate.

Open roses, hydrangea, sedum, berries and dahlias all played a part in the lushness of Kelley's bouquet. Each flower added a unique element to the whole.

Simply gorgeous!

White cymbidiums were also worn as hair flowers.

The guys wore red spray roses with a little purple accent to match the girls.

The cake was decorated with a few dark red dahlias on the top.

The centerpieces were so unique! Five tea tins were decorated by the bride with printed paper for each table. Sisters filled each tin with a cluster of wedding flowers in wedding colors. Each table was different and interesting.

Set-up at St. Albans

This wedding and reception was this past October at St. Albans. These snapshots were taken by our staffer, Chelsea.

The back of the Sisters van loaded and ready to go!

The reception was intimate and held in a tent with guest tables in a square with everyone facing in. The center tent pole was decorated to be a natural addition to the decor.





The backs of the chairs had a cluster of succulents.

The tables were lined with small arrangements of roses and green succulents.

These large arrangements of bright oranges and purples decorated each corner of the square table.

An orange rose was placed at each seat.

Lounge areas were set up for the guests to enjoy. The seating was provided by Exclusive Events, Inc.

Purple dendrobium orchids were added to this cake by The Cakery.

Dendrobium corsages and a mini calla bout. for the wedding party.

This lush flower arrangement decorated a memorial table at the ceremony.
