LoBoheme ~ Vintage Inspired Hair Accessories

These elegant vintage inspired hair accessories are becoming more and more popular and I love them more each time I see them! Here is a collection from {LoBoheme}, a small design team in San Diego (wife, husband, and dog), Lauren (Lo), Josh, and Tank Christensen. Lo is the designer and takes care of the creative end of Lo Boheme, with the inspiration and technological savvy coming from her sweets, Josh and Tank. I guess it runs in the family, because her mom is also creative! She makes custom ties for weddings, as well as custom made vintage handkerchief ring bearer pillows sold at her Etsy.com shop {Tux & Tulle}.

Kiikku Planters by Unison

I am LOVING the {Kiikku planter} by {Unison}! This tiered system allows for interchangeable porcelain pots that rest on a leaning walnut ladder. This is a great solution for indoor plants an does not require it's own table or basket to hang from.

All White is Overrated :)

I have really been loving the idea of a bride not having to be in white head to toe. Shoes are one of the parts I think a woman can really go all out with and still remain traditional with the dress. It adds a splash of fun and color - it can also be the way to tie in the color of the bridesmaids dresses. Here is a collection of ones I have liked as I have come across them over time. Whether they are Louboutins or J.Crew - these are all super cute!

Pop + Shorty ~ Design the Pops!

As a designer spending many hours a day working with wonderful web producers - I got a kick out of {this} :)

Grace + Aaron's Wedding ~ Mrs. Design*Sponge :)

Those of you who are avid readers of {Design*Sponge} like me, we have been patiently awaiting the photos from Grace Bonney's wedding! Being that her wedding was being featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, she had to wait until the issue was officially on the stands. The wait is finally over! Here are just a few from the ones she {posted}, as well as some from {Martha Stewart Weddings} site. The photographer for her wedding was {Bethalée}.

Absolutely beautiful and just the style I like! Maybe that's why I love her blog :)

AND THE WINNER IS...

#4 - Lexsea Mann - CONGRATULATIONS!

The winner was selected using {Random.org}

Here is her selection and reason for picking it:
"I loved the {Alessi - Mediterraneo Kitchen Jar Collection} with the red coral pattern over the clear, crisp jars. I inherited my mom's sand collection (little jars filled with sand from all over the world) that I keep in the kitchen. I think these jars with the whole mediterranean, ocean-feel would look great next to these smaller glass sand-filled jars. Plus, I love keeping my kitchen looking neat and contained... and these would be perfect to keep something I use often in."

Here are some of the other items selected by readers:

Thanks for entering and thanks so much to {AllModern.com} for this opportunity!

The Strapped Big Bag

I came across this bag on the {Definition of Self} Etsy shop yesterday and then saw it on a few other sites today - it is becoming pretty popular! The Strapped Big Bag is large purse or a good sized tote that is crisply designed and can comfortably carry all of your daily needs in one bag. It closes shut with 2 magnetic snaps. I gotta have one!

High Fashion Home

I always love finding different kinds of typographic solutions - I thought this was a pretty cool and clever form of advertising for {High Fashion Home}, a Huston based home furnishings store. Customers are given the freedom to choose among this large selection of high style and high end design products that caters to intelligence, creativity, and individuality - quality and value are not compromised. This 4-story, 125,000 squar food home furnishing store is a sanctuary of inspirational choices for an eclectic, modern lifestyle. There is a nice mix of furniture, fabrics, drapery, and home accessories from all around the world. "Explore. Experience. Imagine the possibilities." Below is some of my faves from their furniture collection.

Here is a glimpse of the amazing experience inside this furniture emporium!

Regine Pfanz - Jewelry Design

These are two of the pieces that I really like from the Etsy shop of {Regine Pfanz}. The rings are hand-crafted from sterling silver and complimented with colored resin - simple and stylish. The playful bracelet is also made of sterling silver and has two loops that are inlaid with hand tinted resin.

Handmade Felt Garlands

Check out these cool felt garlands by {Anna Alicia Accessories}. Every petal is cut and sewn by hand - making each one unique. They are approximately 43cm long. They look beautiful hanigng from mirrors, doors, picture frames, chair backs, shelves, etc. She also makes these beautiful "cushion corsages" to revitalize your old throw pillows and cushions - they come with with two safety pins sewn to the back to securely fasten to your pillows - they are about 13cm x 16cm. She has been sewing since before she can remember and is passionate about the importance of hand-made products - I agree!

Organic Quilt Company

Becky - mother of 3 in Montreal, Canada - created {Organic Quilt Company} after her quest to find sustainable quilting cottons. Being a long-time quilter, she became more and more concerned with the thought of chemicals being used by the quilting industry - and as a mother she did not want to wrap her babies up in these chemically-laced blankets. She was even more inspired after finding beautiful organic cotton fabrics and decided to create a line of luxuriously soft quilts and receiving blankets - all sustainable and high quality. Aside from blankets/quilts, she also makes hats and fun/stylish, yet soft and very absorbent, burp cloths. She is able to custom make any product to match whatever color or pattern you are drawn to.

Wire Crochet

After years of working in front of a computer as a professional industrial designer, {Yael} was looking for something more. Though her work demanded creativity, she was longing for the creativity of hand crafted art. She began creating jewelry and decorative pieces out of wire - using crochet needles, she considers this wire crochet or knitting. Amazing! That must take some serious patience and tough fingertips - this is not easy!

Letterpress Belt Buckle

So I have posted cool accessories for us type-nerds out there - like the {KERN ring}...so here's another one! (Thanks for the find Delman!) This great {buckle} is cast in pewter from letterpress type. It snap attaches and is available separate from the belt. This belt is made of recycled double-layered recycled biked tubes. Together these look great!

This awesome handmade wrist cuff is made of dyed, felted wool, subtle plaid, vintage buttons and hand-embroidered folk art. They are made by {Waterrose Handcrafted Obsessions}.

Isette's Handmade Jewelry

{Isette} - a typography obsessed graphic designer- created this line of beautifully crafted handmade jewelry. The ones I have shown here are made of black acrylic and are either laser cut or etched. I love the ampersand pieces...and well, I also love the Damask style earrings - her inspiration being Victorian wind vanes.

Rustic Yet Refined

I think this is a super cleaver and inexpensive way to keep all your earrings organized, protected, and easily accessible. Once covered in earrings, this can very well stand out as a piece of art on a wall or simply by leaning it up on a dresser or table. Earrings will hang on the strong but flexible mesh insert that is held between two solid handcrafted barnwood frames. What I love most about it is the rustic yet refined quality. Aside from the earring frames, they also have other wooden objects such as some really beautiful candle holders. All of this work is created and handcrafted {Paradise Hill Designs}.

Tiny Whales

This great Etsy shop, {Tiny Whales}, is all about merging the gap between infant and children's clothing. This is being done by creating fun, imaginative, and modern designs that are loved by all ages. I am not surprised that the most common question they receive is from adults wanting the same thing in their size! They are breaking the mode of having girls only wearing certain colors and designs and the same for boys. The goal is to have babies looking hip and stylish through their choice of colors, bold prints and modern graphics. The motto is that rules were meant to be broken and therefor they are changing the way children should be dressed.

Heather Bailey Designs

Like {Amy Butler}, {Heather Baily} is a very talented designer of fabrics, sewing patters, and lots of beautiful creations. I just picked out a few of my favorites - I recommend checking out her site and her {blog} for more! Baily started college at the age of 17 in a Pre-Med program with plans to become a surgeon. She allowed herself one "fun" class a semester - her life changed after taking the History of Costume and Pattern Drafting. She graduated in 1996 with a degree in Apparel Design. A year later, she started Noggins, a children's hat company - eventually turning into a women's accessory line with her invention of Trash Ties hair accessories. Her adventures have led her to design fabrics, designer sewing patterns, and paper craft supplies.

Domestic Candy

Being that I was unable to read and understand a word on this blog makes it pretty difficult to talk about the artists work other than saying what I think about it. I love this retro, yet modern look for both accessories and home decorating. Check out the seemingly new Domestic Candy {blog}, as well as the {online shop} on {Dawanda}.

Serena & Lily

Stylish moms have stylish babies and of course design stylish nursuries for them. What better way than to do so with many beautiful products of {Serena & Lily}? From the super cute slings for mothers to carry their babies, to the full line of products necessary to complete any nursury, and even great gift items like the {Take Me Home} set. I came across Serena and Lily on {Decor8}, one of my favorite blogs to visit.
