Sweet Summer Wedding

Stacie and Ben were married this past June. Here are some great pictures of their ceremony and reception. They were such a great couple to work with!!

All the bouquets were a mix of greens and pink. Stacie's was lush and full with peonies, roses, orchids, stephanotis and hanging amaranthus to trail.

The reception was a the Ritz. We had two different centerpieces--one with branches and one that had a round, ball shape. Both carried through the greens and pinks and both had hanging amaranthus.

Best wishes to Ben and Stacie! It was a pleasure working with you and your families!

Hanging Amaranthus

Hanging amaranthus can be used in a variety of ways. It's long, hanging tendrils can give a lush and formal look as well as an organic feel. Here are some examples of how we have used it for wedding this past summer.

Green amaranthus was used around the outside of this bridal bouquet. It gave the whole bouquet a romantic, whimsical feeling.

The reception at the Ritz featured two tall centerpieces with hanging amaranthus. This is a great example of the amaranthus being used at a very formal event.

This reception in Forest Park also had green hanging amaranthus. Here it is used in a very gardeny way to accent the green in the arrangement.

Hanging amaranthus also comes in a burgundy color and is as versatile as the green. Just adding a hanging element to an arrangement can change the overall look of the piece.

Wedding of Lorraine and Ven

Here are some snapshots of a wedding that took place on March 7. We also helped out the bride and groom with the flowers for their rehearsal dinner (see the blog entitled "Rockin' Rehearsal Dinner"). These are the flowers they chose for their ceremony and reception--all at the Ritz.

This is the bridal bouquet. It was all purple mini callas with white cymbidium orchids. The jewels and bee pin were provided by the bride as a "special touch" for the bouquets and some of the corsages and bouts.

This was the ceremony room at the Ritz.

We provided two pieces for the front tables that had the wedding flowers to help bring color into the room.

The aisle was decorated with purple hydrangeas and ivy with ribbon tied onto the silver chairs.

The centerpieces were a cube vase with the purple hydrangea, orchids, and callas lilies-again decorated with the bride and groom's own bling.

Special thanks to the wonderful bride and groom. Lorraine and Ven--it was such a pleasure working with both of you and we were thrilled to be a part of your day!!

A Rockin' Rehearsal Dinner

This was pretty much the most unique and awesome rehearsal dinner that we have ever helped with!! These snapshots were taken this past Friday in the Wine Room at the Ritz Carlton in Clayton. Our bride and groom, Lorraine and Venson, had a creative way to tie their first date (at a concert) to their rehearsal dinner--use a few of Venson's guitars from his collection and make them rotate on a bed of flowers! Easy enough!

Venson provided us with the rotating pedestals (and the guitars and stands, of course) and we went to work creating the look they wanted. We used 18" wreaths packed with red carnations and black magic roses to make a mound of red flowers for the guitars to "float" on. Then, we covered the top of the pedestal with a thick bed of rose petals. Take a look at the result!!

Notice the other guitars in the background. Each table was different and each guitar was later embellished by the groom with pictures of family and friends.

This was a truly unique and personalized event! An awesome party for an awesome couple!! We did the flowers the next day for the wedding, so stay tuned!!

Vintage Inspired Wedding

Here are some gorgeous shots of a wedding we did late last year. Mark and Shari (the bride and groom) had a vintage inspired look that they wanted to achieve. Below is a photo from the Spring/Summer 2008 issue of St. Louis Bride Magazine that was the starting point for the floral design.

This was also the inspiration picture for the bridal bouquet.

This was the bouquet we did for Shari that incorporated the hydrangea and hanging phaleonopsis orchids in her wedding colors.

The bridesmaids carried a classic all white hydrangea bouquet.

The flower girls also carried white flowers.........

........white spray rose kissing balls.

The ceremony and reception were both held at the Ritz Carlton in Clayton. We provided the canopy and flowers for the ceremony room.

Here comes the bride.....

Shari's vintage-looking gown and veil were beautiful.

Up close shots of the canopy show how the structure frames the bride and groom and gives the ballroom a focal point.

The garland dripping in white hydrangeas and roses was removed from the canopy after the ceremony and placed on the head table to be re-used!

The reception was conveniently held in the ballroom next to the ceremony room.

The same vintage inspired flowers were used throughout the reception for the centerpieces.

Each guest table had a tall, clear cylinder vase with a large, garden-y arrangement of all white hydrangeas, roses, and orchids with curly willow accents.

Special thanks to Lace for all the beautiful photos featured!

All the best to the bride and groom who were a joy to work with!!

New Year's Eve Weddings

Sisters Flowers had two New Year's Eve weddings!! Both were classy and elegant in their own stylish way. Take a look at some of the snapshots we took of our set-up that day!!

WEDDING AT HILTON BALLPARK

This wedding used red, burgundy, and white for it's decor. These tall arrangements on top of pilsner vases left the middle of the vase clear with the flowers starting above the guests' heads. The flowers included snapdragons, hydrangea, roses, and stock.

These cube vases, filled with stock, roses, and alstromeria, also went on guest tables.

The combination of high and low arrangements really gave each table it's own interesting feature.

Look at the view from this ballroom!!

WEDDING AT THE RITZ

The decor of this reception was a very formal dark red/burgundy and black.

These centerpieces were 36 roses in a spray on top of trumpet vases. Each vase had clear rocks in the bottom with an LED light shining up into the vase.

These velvety black magic roses were just the right fit with the linens and color scheme of the ballroom.

Thanks to both the Knudson and Noonan families! It was a pleasure working with you on your beautiful weddings!! All our best to the newlyweds!!
